Resources I've used to learn Arabic:
Easy Arabic Grammar, by Jane Wightwick and Mahmoud Gaafar
Arabicpod.net (beginner's podcasts are free)
http://www.talkinarabic.com/ (new site but looks very promising for learning dialects!)
Memrise course:
http://www.memrise.com/course/66669/1-5000-arabic-frequency-audio/
No-typing version:
http://www.memrise.com/course/364774/1-1000-arabic-frequency-audio-no-typing/
LWT!! (a huge help for tackling vocabulary and reading)
Bilingual classics (not recommended - quality of writing is highly variable, and not often useful)
